Thin AgGaS2 Crystals

Silver Gallium Sulfide (AgGaS2, AGS) is very useful for middle and deep infrared applications due to its large nonlinear optical (NLO) coefficients and high transmission in the IR region. The phase matching and transmission characteristics of AgGaS2 allow 3-wave interactions in the mid and near IR. It has been used as an efficient NLO crystal for frequency mixing involving 3 - 10 µm IR pulses such as OPA pumped by a Ti:Sapphire laser and DFG or SFG of the signal/idler pulses from an OPA.
Newlight Photonics offers AgGaS2 crystals with a typical aperture of 5x5 mm. Larger apertures up to 10x10 mm are available upon request. The thickness can be as small as 0.2 mm.
