Dual Wavelength Waveplates

Dual Wavelength Waveplates

Material: High grade quartz crystals.
Single plate design to give different retardations for two specified wavelengths:
  a) Multi-order thick plates for narrow bandwidth lasers,
  b) True 0th-order
Ultrathin design (< 100 μm) with a large bandwidth
and minimum material dispersion for ultrafast pulses
.
All optical surfaces AR coated.
Optically robust with a high damage threshold.
Two common plate sizes:
Diameter 15mm, mounted in OD 1" holder  and
Diameter 1" (25.4 mm),  mounted in OD 30 mm holder
Custom sizes are available upon request.

 Mount adaptors are available.
On this page are mainly multi-order thick waveplates. For the true 0th-order

The ultrathin dual waveplate is a precise 0th-order half waveplate @ 800 nm and an approximate full waveplate @ 400nm. With the fast axis set @ 45 deg, a linearly polarizated light @ 800 nm is rotated by 90 deg and remains linear while a linearly polarized light @ 400 nm becomes slightly elliptical with the amplitude along the original polarization reduced by ~ 5%. This small "loss of amplitude" is not problematic for most applications.
